Toomey Residential and Community Services is committed to assisting individuals to reach their highest level of capability and to increase their opportunities for success through our community based clinical treatment services and programs. 


This is a 40 hour a week position. 

Wed 12pm-10pm, Thurs 2pm-10pm, Fri 2pm-10pm, & Sat 8am-10pm.

Basic Function: Insure the efficient operation of a residence, its staff and clients to achieve daily goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Schedule and oversee program advocates.
  • Assist in the development of day, residential and behavioral habilitation plans.  Insure that staff are informed of and are following care plans.
  • Provide a safe and positive environment for clients.   Identify risk and safety issues and report to appropriate person(s).
  • Develop and implement activity plans for clients.
  • Assist in the care and transportation of clients. 
  • Insure that all necessary paperwork is completed in a timely fashion. 
  • Participate in the program advocate hiring, orientation, training and evaluation process as necessary. 
  • Act as a positive role model and liaison for staff and clients and others who have a relationship to clients.
  • Maintain cash logs and receipts. 
  • Administer medication and monitor medication inventory policies.
  • Maintain guidelines as established by the funding sources and Toomey Residential and Community Services. 











Associates Degree in Human Services or related field preferred. HS Diploma or equivalent  and up to three years experience working with  individuals with  disabilities required. 


Skills/Abilities:  Basic Computer skills, CPR/FA. Will be required to successfully complete the necessary criminal background clearance; have good verbal & written skills; ability to attend training to become med. certified. Excellent communication skills needed to work with a wide variety of people both within the agency and the community.


Licenses/Certificate/Clearances: Valid N.Y.S. Drivers License and registered vehicle is required.  N.Y.S. Child Abuse Registry clearance.
