Overview

Toomey Residential and Community Services is committed to assisting individuals to reach their highest level of capability and to increase their opportunities for success through our community based services and programs.

 

The Children's Community Residence offers a fun, energetic work environment with a well established team where experienced human service professionals teach boys new skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in youth development and be highly motivated to work in such an active environment.  

 

This is a Full Time, 40 hour per week position.  Thursday-Monday.

Responsibilities

Provide support and assistance to children ages 7 – 14 residing in the Children’s Community Residence (CCR). Serve as a positive role model for socially acceptable behavior while assisting in areas of daily living, community involvement, and recreational activities. Assist with household duties and meal preparation. Some positions require staff to pass medications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred. Experience working with youth who have emotional/behavioral challenges.  A clean valid NYS drivers’ license. Some positions require staff to use their own vehicle for work purposes. Will be required to successfully complete fingerprinting clearance; have good verbal & written skills; ability to attend training and pass the test to become med. certified, if required.

 

Clearances: All positions at Toomey Residential and Community Services are required to attend Safe environment training within 60 days of hire. This position also requires an acceptable State child abuse clearance background check.
