Overview

This is a Full Time position; 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Pre-K positions offer flexibility of 10 month or 12 month. Paid time off for school breaks with additional PTO. 

Responsibilities

 

 

  1. Coordinate with Preschool Program Manager and Syracuse City School District (SCSD) staff in order to implement the school's curriculum.
  2. Plan and implement two, 2.5 hour preschool classes each day.
  3. Collaborate with Program Manager and other staff members to ensure a well-run and purposeful program.
  4. Work with SCSD and Head Start to ensure that program requirements are being carried out.
  5. Establish and maintain a safe healthy learning environment.
  6. Recruit and maintain a full class list per contract with SCSD and continued collaborate with Head Start
  7. Support social and emotional development. Provide positive guidance. Advance physical and intellectual experience.
  8. Establish positive and productive relationships with families.
  9. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications

A Bachelor degree in early childhood or related field with desire to earn teaching certification within three years, or, A NYS teaching license or certificate in the early childhood grades.

Licenses/Certificate/Clearances: Criminal history check, NYS registry clearance.

 

Skills/Abilities: Computer skills, Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Classroom management.
