Adult Advocates provide advocacy for the safety of abused and neglected adults.
This position is Full Time, Monday-Friday, 35 hours a week.
Assist clients in obtaining services.
Provide socialization and companionship.
Establish a rapport with clients in order to learn of problems and concerns.
Assist clients in understanding their options and making positive choices.
Maintains guidelines established by the funding source and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. and up to one year of relevant experience. Preference for individuals with experience working with vulnerable populations, especially vulnerable adults. Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client’s homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals required. Ability to ensure confidentiality and communicate effectively in both oral and written circumstances.
Licenses/Certificate/Clearances: Valid N.Y.S. Drivers License, N.Y.S. Registered and insured vehicle. NYS Central Registry clearance.
