Responsibilities

In coordination with the lead teacher the Teaching Assistant will be responsible for the overall planning and implementation of preschool classes each day. The Teaching Assistant will also assist the UPK Teacher in promoting the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of students. Provide and maintain a safe environment for students and ensure that students are appropriately supervised at all times.

 

The Teacher Assistant, Universal PreK is a Full Time position, 35 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 4pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

Two-year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. HS Diploma or equivalent with at least one year experience working with children birth to age 5 in a a classroom/day care setting. Ability to work with and interact with children. Good interpersonal skills. Good communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
