Responsibilities

The HR Specialist/Recruiter will function as the main recruiter for Toomey Residential and Community Services, providing day to day management and coordination of activities related to employee recruitment, hiring, and on boarding using best practices for Toomey Residential and Community Services. Recruitment activities include, sourcing, recruiting, job fair representation, college recruiting, postings, advertising, candidate screenings, and reference checks. The HR Specialist/Recruiter will make recommendation to improve hiring process, assist in the management of job descriptions, and provide internal customers/managers with updates on recruitment activities. The HR Specialist/Recruiter will work with the HR department and Toomey Residential to coordinate candidate onboarding, orientation, and mandated trainings.

 

The HR Specialist/Recruiter will function as part of the Toomey Administrative Team as well as the Human Resources Team, and will assist as needed with new hire training coordination and other tasks associated with the recruitment and hiring process.

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:   Bachelor degree in human resources, business or related field with One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a corporate human resources environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and regulations is required, experience in the development and implementation of new systems preferred. Valid NYS Driver's license and reliable transportation required or, the ability to drive to agency program sites, and external locations on demand within the work day.
