Adult Advocates provide advocacy for the safety of abused and neglected adults by assisting clients in obtaining services, providing socialization and companionship and establishing a rapport with the clients in order to learn of any problems or concerns. Adult Advocates assist clients in understanding their options and making positive choices while maintaining the guidelines established by the funding source and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
This position is Full Time; Monday-Friday
High School Diploma or GED is required and one year of relevant experience. Preference for individuals with experience working with vulnerable populations, especially vulnerable adults. Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client's home and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals required. A valid New York State driver's license is required along with a New York State registered and insured vehicle. New York State Registry clearance is also required.
