    Responsibilities

    Responsible for the day to day management and coordination of activities related to employee recruitment, hiring, and on boarding using best practices for Catholic Charities of Onondaga County.

    1. Working with hiring managers, manage the Agency’s employee recruitment and selection processes for exempt and non-exempt positions to include, but not limited to: sourcing, recruiting, job fairs, college recruiting, job postings and advertising, appropriate screenings and evaluating job candidates to fill position requests.
    2. Make recommendations to improve areas of responsibilities based on research of best practices and becoming and maintaining an employer of choice status for both agencies.
    3. In conjunction with hiring managers and supervisor, develop, update and maintain job descriptions data base for Agencies.
    4. Provide supervisor and internal customers updates on recruitment activities and status. Insure employee selection process is compliant with all federal and state laws, regulations of the funding source and all applicable policies and procedures of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse, Catholic Charities of Onondaga County.
    5. Collaborate with the HR Coordinator on the employee on boarding process including screenings, new employee orientation and new employee mandated trainings.
    6. Work as part of the human resources team, keep abreast of other activities and tasks in the department and assist as needed.
    7. Resolve employee relations issues within scope of knowledge and authority.
    8. Under the direction of supervisor, conduct, and complete applicable and relevant salary surveys.
    9. As directed and needed, efficiently produce accurate and timely reports and correspondence using HR / Payroll databases and Microsoft office software.
    10. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources, Diocese and Catholic Charities policies and procedures. Must maintain strict confidentiality.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor degree in human resources, business or related field with One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a human resources environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and regulations is required, experience in the development and implementation of new systems preferred.

     

    Skills/Abilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and HRIS systems; The ability to demonstrate and adhere to the Agency’s Core Competencies.
