    The Program Assistant will be responsible for promptly responding to parents and referral sources regarding the specifics of the parenting courses. Complete the initial screening for all participants and assign to appropriate course. Contact each participant previous to their assigned class by mail and/or phone as a reminder. Send correspondence, reports and materials as required. Insure the maintenance and timely completion of program statistics as required by the funding source.  Create, maintain, and update databases. Set up and coordinate meetings. Create, transcribe and distribute meeting agendas and minutes Serve as a source of information for other employees, clients and community agencies in a professional and ethical manner. Maintain Parent/Child Library, program tools, materials and supplies for the department. Maintain a clean and safe environment as appropriate. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.


    Associate’s Degree in Human Services preferred, H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. with one (1) year relevant experience required. Valid NYS Driver’s License, NYS Child Abuse Registry clearance. Knowledge of computer systems and computer operations, proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel, Customer service skills. Oral and written communication skills.  Ability to operate office equipment: fax, copier. Manual dexterity sufficient to work with children/adults in a challenging and active environment.
