The Program Coordinator of the Men’s Shelter will provide intermediate to advanced administrative and technical support to shelter staff to ensure success of new program initiatives. Under the direction of the Program Manager, act as a team leader with temporary or ongoing supervisory responsibilities. Independently handle day-to-day work assignments and exercise front line decision making. Work collaboratively with the Program Manager to organize and update all information and protocols pertaining to the operation of the shelter. Create and coordinate record keeping procedures and policies appropriate for program participants. Assist in the referral process to Housing Services to ensure easy access and efficiency. Maintain and update all records in a timely manner to meet guidelines of funding sources. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures. Function as backup for the Shelter Manager. This includes being on call and working evening and weekend hours as required.
Bachelor’s Degree required with up to three (3) years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience including three (3) years relevant experience working with vulnerable populations. Administrative experience preferred. Valid N.Y.S. Drivers License, Clearance from N.Y.S. Child Abuse Registry. Ability to utilize electronic database system. Proficiency in MS Outlook, and MS Office. Customer service skills. Oral and written communication skills.
