The Culinary Instructor provides training in industrial cooking to recent refugees and people born into generational poverty in our Culinary Arts for Self Sufficiency program (CASS). The Instructor will provide hands on and lecture instruction to students in culinary principles, as established by the CASS curriculum. Work with Program Manager to ensure that the necessary funding paperwork (statistical information, contracts, invoices, etc.) are completed and recorded properly. Prepare daily lesson plans in conjunction with established curriculum. Assist in set up and preparation of food items as specified by the established curriculum for class activities ,catering events and educational demonstrations. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
Associates degree in Culinary Arts with (2) years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience instructing in an educational setting, Spanish language skills and experience working with a diverse population required. Ability to become a Serv-safe Manager Instructor certified within 60 days of employment. Valid N.Y.S. Driver's License and NYS Child Abuse Registry clearance.
