    Responsibilities

    The Program Coordinator will recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers to achieve program objectives. Recruit, interview, and select families to participate in the program. Develops and implements the training of Home Visitors in accordance with the Parent-Child Home Program National Center’s curriculum, both prior to starting the Program and throughout the year, through weekly staff meetings. Maintain relationship with the Parent-Child Home Program National Center. Identifies appropriate early childhood curricular materials in accordance with Parent-Child Home Program standards. Serve as advocate and resource for program, staff, and program participants. Order, maintain, monitor, and distributes inventory of curricular materials; Make budget recommendations. Conduct home visits, and interview program families at least twice per year. Monitor and evaluate Home Visitors through home visit records, audio/video tapings, weekly staff meetings, personal conferences and observations of home visits. Evaluates staff regularly. Maintain liaison with appropriate school district staff, and other early childhood, family support, and social service programs in the community. Conduct presentations on program related topics as requested, to local community groups, school boards, and other community stakeholders. Work closely with school district personnel who provide supportive services to participating families, such as school social workers, school psychologists, special education evaluators and adult education staff as appropriate. Assist families in access school and community resources, evaluations interpretation and referral procedures when requested. Participate in budget preparation, program funding, and research via the Parent-Child Home Program’s National Center. Insure the maintenance and timely completion of all program statistics and reports required by the funding source and Catholic Charities. May be responsible for insuring location cleanliness and maintenance. Practice behavior consistent with agency mission, values and core competencies. Interpret and uphold policies and procedures of Catholic Charities, the funding source, and the program. 

    Qualifications

    Bachelor Degree in Human Services with three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Experience working with children and families in home visitation, case work or case management environment required.  Knowledge of population specific tools and resources, and supervisory experience preferred. Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s license and N.Y.S. Child Abuse Registry clearance. Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client’s homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
