We serve children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, experiencing mental health challenges and children who cannot remain at home and require foster care placement including children who are Unaccompanied Refugee Minors who come to the United States from around the world.
The Program Therapist provides OLP (Other Licensed Professional) clinical/behavioral health services to program participants in nontraditional settings such as home and/or community or other site-based settings within their scope of practice to effectively engage children, youth and families/caregivers who may have difficulty engaging in traditional clinic based settings. Provide Licensed Evaluation (Assessment) to program participants including the identification of services, and diagnostic evaluation (in coordination with LCSW as required). Provide treatment Planning detailing scope/practices to be provided, expected outcome and expected frequency and duration of the treatment for each provider. Provide Psychotherapy (counseling) including therapeutic communication and interaction for the purpose of alleviating symptoms or functional limitations associated with the participant’s diagnosed behavioral health disorder. Provide Crisis Intervention activities when necessary when participants experience situational distress including Crisis Triage, Crisis Off-Site, and Crisis Complex intervention. Provide OLP services in a manner that is trauma informed, and culturally and linguistically competent. Coordinate with other providers involved in the individual’s treatment. Provide timely and accurate documentation of contact and related records. Report incidents and issues to supervisor immediately. Ensure delivery of services as outlined by the service plan. Provide continuous monitoring that family choice and voice is present in service delivery.
Master’s degree with up to two (2) years of experience in providing therapeutic mental and behavioral health counseling to children and families is required. Working knowledge of child development. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential is required or Licensed Master Social Worker when under the supervision of an LCSW. Successful completion of the required credentialing process including criminal background check, and State Central Registry clearance. Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, knowledge of best practices working with children and families, and demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
