    Responsibilities

    The Payroll Administrator will prepare and review payroll in a timely and accurate manner for both Catholic Charities of Onondaga County and Toomey Residential and Community Services. Maintain all appropriate payroll records in accordance with State and Federal regulations, and agency best practices. Prepare payroll tax reports as required. Work with the Accounting Manager and Chief Financial Officer to develop, implement and monitor annual goals and objectives. Be a source of information for payroll accounting and governmental regulations. Prepare work sheets for auditors use. Communicate with program director/managers on payroll matters. Communicate with human resources team to insure accuracy of information related to status changes, deductions, paid time off, accrual balances and other types of payroll information. Serve as backup for various accounting personnel. Practice behavior consistent with agency mission, values and core competencies. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a payroll accounting environment in a business, not-for-profit or government agency. Familiarity with ADP Workforce now preferred.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. NYS Driver's license required.
