The Refugee Resettlement Intensive Caseworker is responsible for facilitation of airport greetings and transportation, as well as successful relocation into apartments including apartment set-up. The provision of linkage to supportive counseling and crisis intervention as well as community resources and other organizations. The provision of screening/assessments for necessary mental health services. Assisting in making appointments for services. Following up will be routinely provided to ensure compliance to these appointments. Collaborating with mental health providers and school systems. Completing required documentation and maintaining up to date case files for each refugee. Documentation of all services. Attendance of weekly supervisor meetings to discuss case progress, challenges, receive guidance and support. Maintenance of guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.


Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or human services related and two (2) years experience working   with youth, individuals who speak English as a second language, refugees, and   individuals of diverse backgrounds.

Licenses/Certificate/Clearances:  Valid N.Y.S. Drivers License, N.Y.S. Child Abuse Registry clearance.

Skills/Abilities:  Ability to utilize electronic database system. Proficiency in MS Outlook, and MS Office. Customer service skills. Oral and written communication skills.
