This is a part time position with a payrate of $20 per hour and the flexibility to work afternoons, evenings and weekends!
Skill Builders work closely with families and youth to restore, rehabilitate and support a child’s developmentally appropriate functioning.
Minimum high school diploma with three years’ experience in children’s mental health, addiction and/or foster care; or Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, or related human services required. Training in therapeutic crisis intervention, conflict resolution, trauma informed care and positive behavioral interventions and supports beneficial. Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client’s homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals, Manual dexterity sufficient to work with children in a challenging and active environment.
Skills/Abilities: Ability and engagement skills needed to address serious behaviors in children/adolescents; and to demonstrate and adhere to Agency’s Core Behaviors listed below:
Licenses/Certificate/Clearances: Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License and ability to meet insurance standards; Registered and insured vehicle, N.Y.S. Child Abuse Registry, DCJS Criminal History, Sex Offender Registry, Justice Center SEL clearance required.
