The Neighborhood Advisor will provide information and referrals to senior citizens. Make presentations to community groups providing information on services available. Advocate for clients by providing referrals and coordinating services. Seek out homebound elderly and do home visits. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures. Coordinate transportation services as needed for elderly clients.


Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: Associates degree in Human Services field preferred, H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. with three years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required. Experience working with the elderly and or senior citizens required


Licenses/Certificate/Clearances: Valid N.Y.S. Drivers License, N.Y.S. Registered and insured vehicle.


Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands: Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client’s homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
