The Accounting Associate will perform support services for the accounting department staff. Data entry, accounts payable, and basic book keepting. Process and maintain accounts payable/billings and accounting transactions in accordance with Agency standards and procedures. Maintain payable files. Complete specific accounting projects as assigned. Assist with bank deposits. Maintain satisfactory working relationships with vendors and/or funding sources. Backup specific duties of the account payable function. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: HS Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required. Associate's degree preferred in Accounting or related field. Relevant experience includes working in the field of accounts payable processing in a business, non-for-profit, or governmental environment.
Licenses/Certificate/Clearances: Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License, N.Y.S. Central Registry clearance.
Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel and Word. Ability to operate office equipment. Excellent oral and written communication skills, high attention to detail, problem solving skills.
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands: Mobility sufficient to work in an office environment. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment including machines.
Required Trainings: VIRTUS, Corporate Compliance, Core Updates.
