The Instructional Specialist will provide support and guidance to Enrichment teachers in the effective implementation of comprehensive lessons and lesson plans. Essential Functions/Responsibilities include: Provide staff support that will improve teaching and learning by assisting teachers in completing lesson plans with enough details that will supply content for a meaningful lesson. Provides support and assistance to all Enrichment teachers in the full implementation of well-structured, well-planned lesson plans with rigorous objectives and activities that stimulates thinking and engage students. Serves as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement for all students. Participation in collaborative grade level meetings to improve the focus of instructional planning and student achievement. Work collaboratively with team members to support program-wide implementation of high-quality instruction. Provide ongoing professional development that supports the plan for high quality instructional practices and continuous improvement. Complete regular observations of all teachers and provide feedback. Provide input regarding appropriate individualized strategies to scaffold learning and support for students. Assist teachers in the development and implementation of effective classroom management strategies. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
Full-time, Monday through Friday 7:00am-2:30pm
Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, human services, education, or related field with three (3) years relevant experience in the education field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in educational setting with training in therapeutic crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and positive behavioral supports preferred. Interest in the Performing Arts is useful.
