Responsibilities

The Operations Program Manager will oversee and coordinate the daily services of the Supportive Housing program staff. Manage the provisions of service to individuals referred to the program. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other service providers.

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular inspections using HUD HQS form.
  • Manage overall operations and maintenance of Supportive Housing apartments.
  • Directly supervise maintenance specialist(s).
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making around general operation of apartments.
  • Coordinate with supportive service staff and review work orders.
  • Coordinate with landlords and property management surrounding work orders.
  • Coordinate with Administrative Program Coordinator to make sure expenses and work orders are tracked accordingly.
  • Identify and report risk and safety issues to appropriate person(s).
  • Handle unexpected situations around the apartments, responding to clients concerns and program needs.
  • Routine maintenance.
  • Provide basic instruction on home safety.
  • Work with maintenance, contractors, plumbers and carpenters to ensure repairs and/or unsafe conditions are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Respond to emergencies and notify proper personnel in a timely fashion.
  • Explain and maintain program policies and procedures.
  • Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: Associates degree with 3 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of local Human Service delivery system, including public benefits programs and experience working with low-income and/or homeless individuals. Supervisory/leadership experience. Candidates with lived experience are preferred and encouraged to apply.

 

Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of standard home safety regulations. Ability to use computer systems, proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel. Oral and written communication skills.

 

Licenses/Certifications/Clearances: Valid NYS Driver's License, registered and insured vehicle required. Clearance from NYS Child Abuse Registry.

 

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands: Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client's homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals. Manual dexterity sufficient to work with children/adults in a challenging and active environment.

 

Required Trainings: VIRTUS, Corporate Compliance, Defensive Driving, Core Updates.
