Catholic Charities of Onondaga County is seeking an experienced Case Manager to join our Refugee Resettlement services team, serving refugees in Onondaga County.


  • Conduct outreach to the Ukrainian community.
  • Provide linkage to supportive counseling and crisis intervention.
  • Provide screening/assessments for necessary mental health services.
  • Assist in making appointments for services. Follow up will be routinely provided to ensure compliance to these appointments.
  • Collaborate with mental health providers and school systems.
  • Provide referrals, collaboration, and linkages to community resources and other organizations.
  • Completion of required documentation and maintaining up to date case files for each refugee. Document all services.
  • Meet with supervisor weekly to discuss case progress, challenges, receive guidance and support.
  • Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.


Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: Successful candidates will possess an Associates degree or certification in a specialized field with up to three years of relevant experience, two (2) years experience working with youth, individuals who speak English as a second language, refugees, and individuals of diverse backgrounds or a combination of education and experience. Fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Ukrainian and/or Russian.


Skills/Abilities: Ability to utilize electronic database system. Proficiency in MS Outlook, and MS Office. Customer service skills. Oral and written communication skills.


Licenses/Certificate/Clearances: Valid N.Y.S. Drivers License, N.Y.S. Child Abuse Registry clearance.


Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client’s homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.


Required Training: VIRTUS, Corporate Compliance, Defensive Driving, Mandated Reporting.
