Responsibilities

Toomey Residential and Community Services is seeking a behavioral health professional to join our expanding Children and Family Treatment and Support Services team serving children/youth, ages birth to 21, and their families in Onondaga County.  

  

Responsibilities 

 

  • Provide children and families with supportive counseling and psychoeducation in regards to mental health diagnoses and treatment 
  • Provide rehabilitative supports and crisis management and avoidance services as necessary 
  • Carry full caseload and provide services consistent with agency productivity standards  
  • Develop and implement strengths-based treatment plans and conduct reviews to monitor progress 
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation in a timely manner in the EHR 
  • Maintain client confidentiality 
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and outside service providers 
  • Make referrals as needed 
  • Attend supervision and staff meetings 

 

 

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related human services field and one year of related experience with Children's mental health, substance abuse, and/or foster care,  

OR   

Bachelor degree with 3 years of experience in children’s mental health, addiction, and/or foster care/child welfare/juvenile justice   

 

Successful completion of the required credentialing process including State Central Registry clearance. Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, knowledge of best practices working with children and families and demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License with reliable transportation
