The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repair, and ensure work orders are completed efficiently, correctly and within the specified time frame. Essential Functions/Responsibilities include: Maintain and perform minor repairs including but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems/units. Remodel and maintain properties as required including sheet rocking, painting, and masonry. Provide daily updates to Facilities Director on the completion of assigned work orders and update the work order system as appropriate. Assist as needed for routine inspections of units. Maintain facilities in accordance with federal, state, and local codes. Provide and maintain a safe environment, reporting unsafe or unsanitary conditions in the units to the Operations Coordinator. Function as part of warehouse operation and moving crew and/or driver. Perform in-home repairs for agency clients as directed. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: Two year degree, business or trade school degree and three (3) years relevant experience. Experience is property maintenance and repair preferred.
Licenses/Certificate/Clearances: Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License, State Central Registry Clearance, Virtus Background check.
Skills/Abilities: Basic computer skills, knowledge of building maintenance and repairs, creative problem solving skills, good interpersonal/social communication skills; ability to lift 50 pounds.
