Responsibilities

The Adult Aide for Elderly Services:

  • Provides advocacy for the safety of abused and neglected adults
  • Assists clients in obtaining services
  • Provides socialization and companionship
  • Establishes a rapport with clients in order to learn of problems and concerns
  • Assists clients in understanding their options and making positive choices
  • Maintains guidelines established by the funding source and Catholic Charities policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: High School diploma with one (1) year experience in providing home based services with vulnerable populations required, preferable with elderly and senior citizens. Associates’/Bachelors’ Degree preferred. Home-visiting experience preferred.

 

Skills/Abilities:  Ability to utilize electronic database system. Proficiency in MS Outlook, and MS Office. Customer service skills. Oral and written communication skills.

 

Licenses/Certificate/Clearances: Valid N.Y.S. Drivers License, N.Y.S. Vulnerable Persons Registry clearance. 

 

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:   Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client’s homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals, Manual dexterity sufficient to work with children/adults in a challenging and active environment.
