This Position will coordinate acquisition and pick up of furniture and household good from donors. Schedule pick-ups and directly pick up donations as needed. Deliver furniture and household goods to apartment of newly arriving refugees. Using a housing checklist, inspect apartments for safety issues and ensure follow up with repairs as needed. Communicate with landlords to resolve housing repair issues. Record donations delivered following program guidelines. Keep truck interiors clean. Perform simple vehicle maintenance, such as filling gas tank, cleaning exterior and interior, taking vehicle for oil changes or state inspections, etc.). Report any malfunctions or needed repairs. Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations. Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment. Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
  

Starting Pay For This Position Is: $17.00/ Hour

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:

• H.S. Diploma/G.E.D. 
• experience operating a box truck.
• Experience with housing codes helpful.

Licenses/Certificate/Clearances:

• Valid N.Y.S. Drivers License.

Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to lift heavy objects such as furniture, appliances and household goods up to lift 50lbs.   

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift large pieces of furniture up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
