Responsibilities

The Elderly Services Adult Aide plays a crucial role in assisting clients with accessing services, providing socialization and companionship, establishing rapport to understand their concerns, and supporting them in making informed choices. They adhere to the guidelines set by the funding source and Catholic Charities policies and procedures, ensuring quality care and support for elderly individuals.

 

Starting Pay For This Position Is:  $16.00/ Hour

Hours For This Position are: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:

  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
  • Two years of relevant experience is preferred, particularly in working with the elderly and/or senior citizens.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.

Licenses/Certifications/Clearances:

  • A valid NYS Driver's License is required.
  • The possession of a reliable registered and insured vehicle is necessary.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Maintaining confidentiality is crucial in this role.

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:

  • The position requires mobility sufficient to drive to clients' homes and/or community facilities, which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
