Responsibilities

The Maintenance Coordinator will perform general maintenance and repair, coordinate client relocation, and ensure work orders are completed efficiently, correctly and within the specified time frame as well as provide on-site supervision to all maintenance staff while in the field.

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and perform minor repairs including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems/units.
  • Remodel and maintain properties as required including sheet rocking, painting, and masonry.
  • Work with program staff to help relocate clients from one unit to another including the physical movement of client belongings, and logistical coordination.
  • Provide on-site supervision of maintenance staff to ensure that work orders are completed correctly and on-time.
  • Provide daily updates to Operation Manager on the completion of assigned work orders and update the work order system as appropriate.
  • Perform regular inspections using HUD HQS form.
  • Coordinate and work with contracted services for the maintenance and upkeep of apartments.
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment, reporting unsafe or unsanitary conditions in the units to the Operations Coordinator.
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making around general operations of apartments.
  • Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks/duties as assigned.

This is a Full Time Position at 35 Hours a Week. Pay For This Position Is $24.00 Per Hour.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:

  • Associate’s degree, business or trade school degree
  • With 3 years of relevant experience,
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in property maintenance and repair preferred.
  • Candidates with lived experience are preferred and encouraged to apply.

 

Licenses/Certification/Clearances:

  • Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License,
  • Registered & Insured Vehicle
  • State Central Registry Clearance.

 

Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills,
  • knowledge of building maintenance and repairs,
  • creative problem solving skills,
  • good interpersonal/social communication skills;
  • ability to lift 50 pounds.

 

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings and work at client’s homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
