Responsibilities

~NOW HIRING FOR THR 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR~

 

The Universal Pre-K Teacher plays a vital role in providing a high-quality early childhood education experience for young children! They collaborate with program managers, administrative staff, and the Syracuse City School District to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum.

 

The Teacher Will:

  • Plan and delivers engaging lessons,
  • Foster a safe and healthy learning environment, and actively engages with students to support their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
  • Work closely with families, building positive relationships and ensuring open communication.

 

With a focus on meeting the needs of all children, the Universal Pre-K Teacher contributes to the overall success and positive outcomes of the preschool program.

 

This Position is Full Time, 10 Months a Year at 35 Hours a Week. Pay for This Position is $20.00 Per Hour.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:

  • A two-year degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of six college credits is required.
  • At least one year of experience working with children aged birth to 5 in a classroom or daycare setting.

Licenses/Certificates/Clearances:

  • NYS registry clearance is required.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively work and interact with children.
  • Good interpersonal skills for building relationships with children and colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with children, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with other staff members.

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Manual dexterity is necessary to work with children and adults in a challenging and active environment.
  • Mobility is required to attend meetings at clients' homes or community facilities that may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds may be required.
