Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of IT, the IT Technician will provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues both on-site and over the phone. This includes diagnosing problems, guiding users through step-by-step solutions, and delivering clear, user-friendly technical instructions. The IT Technician will provide one-on-one end-user problem resolution on site and over the phone for hardware/software problems. Install and update computer hardware and software. Maintain computer software, hardware and networks. They will help with question/problem diagnosis and guide users through step-by step solutions as well as troubleshooting network and printer issues, PC hardware problems, and issues related to email, internet, and local-area network access. The IT Technician will clearly communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner; provide one-on-one end-user training as needed. Report more complex end-user problems to Director of IT. They will assist in set up, configuration, tagging and Delivering, and assist in the configuration of end-user PC desktop hardware, software and peripherals. Diagnose and resolve end-user network or local printer problems, PC hardware problems, e-mail, Internet, and local-area network access problems. Performs minor desktop hardware repair for PC computer equipment and peripherals and assists with the installation of local-area network cabling systems and equipment, ensuring end-users receive prompt, effective support that keeps operations running smoothly and productively.

 

This Position is Full Time at 35 Hours a Week. Pay for This Position is $22.00 Per Hour

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with three years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience includes desktop, printer and copier installation and troubleshooting; Networking cabling; Routers and wireless networking VPN;
  • Remote administration of Local Area Network LAN/WAN installation, support and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of Software/Hardware installation;
  • Network protocols in a windows server 2012/2019 environment.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or a certificate from a two-year accredited computer technical program preferred

Licenses/Certificate/ Clearances:

  • Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License,
  • Registered and insured vehicle,

 

Knowledge of:

  • Computer hardware configuration, including desktop computers, laptops, servers, smartphones, and mobile computing devices.
  • Input devices such as keyboards, mice, and scanners.
  • Output devices including displays, printers, and speakers.
  • Data storage devices, both internal and external.
  • Networking hardware such as routers, switches, and fiber optic equipment.
  • Current Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft 365 / Office applications.

 

Working Conditions and Environment/ Physical Demands:

  • Able to life 50 lbs.
  • Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meeting at client’s homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled Individuals,
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to work with technical equipment in an active environment.
